In any event, opium and heroin production grew exponentially and a cast of local psychopaths and criminals have been elevated to levels of authority.

The warlords the US backs (literally with pallets of cash and gold) make the Taliban (the US's original destructive creation) look good.

The society is shattered.

What was the point of of occupying Afghanistan again?

The only silver lining in this cloud is to imagine the idiots who are managing this thing trying to occupy the United States. No wonder they're trying to buy up all the ammunition and make gun ownership illegal.
