Is anyone in charge here?
There's no security issue with people ARRIVING by train so these searches are not the usual total BS. They're total BS cubed.
Brought to you by:
John Pistole - continues to have his head firmly up his ass (when he's not training Egyptian torture technicians...his job when he was at the FBI.)
Janet Napolitano - makes the other "Janet", Janet Reno, look good. Not an easy feat.
Osama Bushbama - the President who is letting all this happen, making Bush look good. (How is that even possible? And yet he does it every day.)
Here's the law that protects people from purposeless searches and other abuses by "officials."
It comes in the form of granting legal recourse to personally sue the blue-shirted molestors, their immediate supervisors and every other TSA idiot right up to the person who issued the order for this misconduct.
The legality of these kinds of searches even for passengers boarding air planes is dubious at best. For people getting off trains, it's got to be several rungs below zero.
Let's have some rule of law.
U.S Code
TITLE 42 > CHAPTER 21 > SUBCHAPTER I > § 1983
§ 1983. Civil action for deprivation of rights
EVERY PERSON who, under color of any statute, ordinance, regulation, custom, or usage, of any State or Territory or the District of Columbia, subjects, or causes to be subjected, any citizen of the United States or other person within the jurisdiction thereof to the deprivation of any rights, privileges, or immunities secured by the Constitution and laws, shall be liable to the party injured in an action at law, suit in equity, or other proper proceeding for redress, except that in any action brought against a judicial officer for an act or omission taken in such officer’s judicial capacity, injunctive relief shall not be granted unless a declaratory decree was violated or declaratory relief was unavailable. For the purposes of this section, any Act of Congress applicable exclusively to the District of Columbia shall be considered to be a statute of the District of Columbia.
Interpretation: Only judges get to act like total assholes with immunity. Every other official, if they attempt to use "the law" as an excuse for violating someone's rights, is PERSONALLY LIABLE to a lawsuit for doing so.
