Really? How did we have the war won?
Twenty-four years later a secular and once relatively stable country is now in total chaos and apparently on the verge of being taken over by extremist nut jobs.
Hundreds of thousands of civilians have been killed and millions psychologically and economically devastated.
Well over $1 trillion dollars spent, thousands of Americans killed and at least 100,000 wounded.
The world marched like it never marched before in human history to stop this second war (2003) before it got started and they were ignored while outlet like CNN and NPR (under president Kevin Klose) pushed the war every step of the way.
