September 12, 1962
This speech should be an important part of the evidence for anyone interested in whether or not the US actually sent men to and from the moon.
In 1962, Kennedy clearly laid out the technical challenges. Just 7 years later - in the middle of a very expensive, economy destroying war - somehow the US managed to overcome all of them.
Three big problems with the story:
1. We've never gone back and prefer instead to wing unmanned space probes far into the outer ends of the solar system
2. The photography from the events is bizarrely perfect and contains many incongruous phenomena
3. The "live" video transmission from the moon to earth is flawless - in 1969
