German customs found a small, but significant shipment of cocaine bound for the Vatican post office.
It was hidden in a shipment of cushions shipped from South America. Ironically, the cocaine was packed in condoms, a product the Vatican still disapproves of.
Do they disapprove of cocaine?

Ever heard of Vin Mariani? It's a Bordeaux wine treated infused with coca leaves.
Pope Leo awarded a Vatican gold medal to the wine, and also appeared on a poster endorsing it. Apparently he carried a hip flask of it where ever he went. Pope Leo XIII was a big fan too.
