He was accused of taking a backpack
Three years later, all charges were dropped
Sixteen years old.
He was arrested based on a claim by a stranger who he never met before.
He was jailed and held without bail.
He was not given a trial - for three years - and much of that time he was held in solitary confinement.
Despite being offered a plea deal and threatened with 15 years in one of the worst jails in the US he refused to plead guilty.
