Iran is predictably unimpressed by calls for peace from the United States -- a country that's been at war every single day for the last two centuries. While the Iran-Iraq War of the '80s was extremely brutal -- and helped set the stage for America's own conflict in the region -- the fact remains that Iran for the most part keeps to itself.

The power elites in the West want to keep Iran dependent on oil, so they seek to stigmatize it for operating a nuclear program, to which -- like it or not -- treaty entitles the nation-state.
