So much of what's going on today - fake terror, spying on citizens, out-of-control government fraud - had its foundations in the the 1980s Iran-Contra operation and the government drug dealing operations during the Vietnam War (many of the people involved in the latter were involved in the former, both as operatives and as "investigators.")

One of the most poorly reported stories of that era was the tale of BCCI, affectionately known by researchers as the Bank of Crooks and Criminals.

The bank helped governments - including the US government - make payoffs to foreign powers. It also facilitated the arms trade, the illegal drug trade and the terror trade. The CIA and the DIA was in it up to its arm pits.
