When scientists can't be a naysayer on the issue without risking their career, there is a fundamental problem with how the conversation is being conducted.

Science is all about forming hypothesis, challenging the intellectual norms, testing new theories, and accepting things that seem to come up as fact.

Part of that process is allowing people to disagree and form a hypotheses which goes against the scientific norm.

But many scientists who are challenging mainstream assumptions about the degree to which humans are affecting climate are finding themselves at risk of losing their credibility.
