It's one of the most common themes in American history: The war against labor.
Americans fought and died to make the eight hour work day/five day week standard.
They had to. Otherwise, the same families that funded the Nazis and engaged in countless other atrocities would have been happy to work them to death and replace them with the next boatload of desperate immigrants.
For people like this, workers getting together to bargain is "inconvenient" and must be suppressed at any cost.
