But did we listen? Of course not
Just before the United States invaded Iraq, French President Jacques Chirac issued us a warning: "Be careful!"
Many Americans jeered the French attitude towards our Iraq plans.
Remember "French surrender monkeys" and Freedom Fries?"
But the French have much more experience in the Middle East than the US did, and Chirac was speaking from experience.
We did not heed the warning.
We plowed ahead with cheerleading from CNN and Fox.
